Exercise is the best medicine for your heart, bones, brain and disposition. We are happy to see families and friends out moving and enjoying the fresh air.
On a warm July evening, Kelly Beer, RN, led a troupe of AFCNS staffers to cheer on the Triangle, Inc. Bashers at Amerige Park in Malden. A Special Olympics softball team, the Bashers typically practice and compete all summer long and wrap up each season by participating in the Special Olympics Tournament in Marlborough. Though the 2020 season was called off due to the pandemic, the team is excited to be back on the field this season (with added precautions and safety measures in place).
The crowd at this particular game was just as excited as the team and cheered enthusiastically throughout the match.
The Special Olympics can always use volunteers. There are various volunteer opportunities available, from single-day events to season-long coaching positions with teams like the Bashers. If you are interested in learning more, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 508-485-0986.
