Logs

Logs

Once again, we must address the issue of logs. We have a slightly new wrinkle, and we need your help.

Here is what we are asking you to do:

Have the log ready for every visit.

Your nurse and care manager will sign them regardless of the time of month.

MassHealth has many regulations that we must follow, and one of the most time-consuming is the logs. We now have 360 clients, which means 360 logs a month, each with a minimum of 420 characters. There are more than a quarter million little boxes that we must check by hand every month. Every entry is checked for completion and accuracy. Most of you are on top of things, for which we thank you, but every month we have to chase down delinquent logs. MassHealth is paying you, the caregiver, for doing personal care for your client, and the logs are MassHealth’s evidence that you are doing so.

As you know, in 2019 we were awarded the top certification by the state’s certifier, CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). One of the reasons for our top rating is that we keep up with all the requirements. All of our data, visits, and day-to-day issue management are up-to-date. All of our homes are inspected or are scheduled to be. Our job is to keep your home as stable as possible and to show the state that taxpayers are getting their money’s worth.
