Hurray For Us!

Hurray For Us!

We passed the accreditation process in the top group!

In Massachusetts, every Adult Foster Care program has had to go through a year-long process of formal accreditation with a nationwide company to demonstrate proficiency, effectiveness, responsibility and financial stability. We worked with CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and not only passed but passed with a three-year accreditation which is the best possible. Thanks to the efforts of Joe Woodbury, Janet Dunsky RN, Joanna Adrien RN, Bonnie Griffith and our incredible staff, we sailed through.

The CARF surveyors interacted with staff and families and conducted direct, confidential interviews. The surveyors moved into our office and one surveyor toured homes with our staff. The survey was long and thorough. CARF International paid us high compliments.

Here are some of the things they said:

  • ”Adult Foster Care of the North Shore provides high quality and well-regarded services and supports to clients and caregivers.”
  • (They) “are committed to the mission and work collaboratively to set an environment where all contributions are valued.”
  • Clients and caregivers express a high level of satisfaction…noting that “someone is always available whenever needed.”
  • “Leadership and staff are congratulated for their achievement.”

Needless to say, we do not plan to rest on our laurels! As always, we are looking for ways to improve. If you have ideas or comments about how we can make our services better, please let us know. You, our families, are what it’s all about. The care of our clients and the well-being of our families are our top priority, and we are glad that we have been paid the compliment of a three-year accreditation. We look forward to continuing to work with all of you for many years to come.
